Origins in Groß Tychow/ Pommerania:

Our activities have always centred on timber. Three generations ago a sawmill with adjoining barrel production facility was established in Groß Tychow from Rudolf Schulz. The business had to be discontinued in 1945.

Development since 1945:

During the course of our over 65 year history, our deciduous timber sawmill has proven itself a competent partner for industry and timber wholesalers. After Wolfgang Schulz (*1924, †2008) had worked for 25 years in managerial positions in various sawmills, he finally decided to go it alone.

For the first five years sawn timber was only produced in a various third party mills. After that our current operation in Bad Driburg was purchased in 1978 and reorganized to meet the growind demands of customers requiring sawn deciduous timber.

The actual generation:

His successor, called Bernd Schulz, began his specialist training in a timber merchants and further developed his knowledge in practical phases at a number of different sawmills. His training continued at the technical college in Rosenheim and in 1993 he graduated with a business diploma, specifically in timber business management.

On 01.07.1998, the business was transferred from Wolfgang Schulz to Bernd Schulz. The business continues to develop under the new management and the range of products is always being extended in order to meet future requirements and customer needs.

On 25.06.2003, the industrial chamber of commerce in Bielefeld put Bernd Schulz under an oath for being a tribunal expert for European and Non-European sawn timber and logs. For further information please have a look in internet under www.holzsachverstaendiger.de
